A Labradoodle is a crossbred dog created by crossing the Labrador Retriever and the Standard or Miniature Poodle.The first known use of the term "Labradoodle" was by Sir Donald Campbell to describe his Labrador Poodle cross dog in his 1955 book, "Into the Water Barrier".

Known in ancient China, they may have been responsible for both the modern Pekingese and King Charles spaniel.
